← Beatles Singles Released in Canada
On 5 October 2012, a 50th anniversary pressing of Love Me Do was released, but curiously, quality control was apparently not rigorous enough that day because the release had many mistakes that were quick to be found by collectors. Namely, the version of Love Me Do was not the one with Ringo (like the original UK single), but the one with Andy White (found on the 1963 Album). Furthermore, the print was grey and not silver (more obvious when looked at an angle), and the catalog number noted on the B-side (R 4714) was the number of Matt Monroe's "Portrait Of My Love".
Two weeks later, on 22 October 2012, a corrected version was reissued, replacing the mistake copies. Unfortunately, not all errors were corrected; The audio was replaced and the print was now silver, but the B-side catalog number was still R 4714.
This record was pressed by Optimal in Germany, for worldwide distribution and featured the 20089 remastered versions of the tracks. It was "limited" to 10 000 copies. Besides the different audio and print color between the two variations, the matrix numbers etched on the trail off areas were also different.
