45.72146.12.1 | Retro Rainbow
(Capitol Pressing)
This variation features yet again a new label design, when Capitol came back once more with a variation on an older design: the "retro rainbow" label design. 45.72146.12.1 was pressed by Capitol (Mississauga plant) and has no "B" prefix . It is extremely rare and was made in very small quantities. This was the last pressing of Twist And Shout to have been manufactured at the Capitol plant in Mississauga.

Availability
This variation is extremely hard to find and was pressed in very small quantities, on a need-to basis when warehouse stocks were down. Not all titles were released on this label generation. This pressing was available for a short time in 1983, and was the last Capitol-pressed variation of Twist And Shout. This pressing virtually never show up (unlike its later Columbia pressed counterparts).

General Information
This series of pressings is extremely scarce today because it was pressed in very small quantities, for a very short time. In fact, very few titles from the Beatles' back catalogue were reissued under this variation. Older titles did not sell that much, and only six titles are known to have been repressed on the 1st generation of retro rainbow labels.
For a complete list of titles released on the retro rainbow labels see Releases by Label Type page of this website, through the main menu at the top.
Pressing Information
45.72146.12.1 (Capitol pressing) was a STEREO release and these were most likely pressed from the same lacquer cut as 45.72146.11.1 (**this needs to be confirmed** since no physical copies were available at the time of writing this page). Although the label does not state a stereo release, and although the matrix numbers remain similar to previous mono pressings, the mix found on this pressing is nonetheless a true stereo mix.

Packaging
These first generation retro rainbow pressings were most likely sold in the generic Capitol mylar sleeve.
