Long Tall Sally Variations List

Long Tall Sally

This album was a unique Canadian release

LP.6063.7.2 | Orange 2nd generation, Dynaflex pressing, black perimeter print, ® logo

Variation LP.6063.7.2 is identical to the previous variation LP.6063.7.1, but feature the ® logo instead of the earlier ™ logo on the bottom right of the label.

Availability

The ® logo appeared in Janauray 1975, so this variation would have been available in 1975 for approximately 1 year and a half, until the new Capitol pressing plant started producing their own pressings in October 1976 (LP.6063.8.1).

Pressing Information

Capitol of Canada once again subcontracted the RCA pressing plant in Smith Falls (Ontario) to manufacture new batches of albums under its new Dynaflex technology.

This pressing caries the new master cut at RCA:
Side A: T 6063 XEX 471 TXD
Side B: T 6063 XEX 472 TXD.

Cover

This pressings features the "Wraparound" covers that feature a single front AND back slick sheet that "wraps around" the cardboard frame like a book cover.

These covers wrap from the front onto the back (unlike "front slick" construction types that wrap onto the front), resulting in NO white frame around the front image. These can almost look like a posterboard to the untrained eye, but when looking at the bottom cover, the wraparound slick can be identified where the two ends meet and wrap onto each other.

These new wraparound slicks were printed by Modern Graphics (see the MG logo on the bottom right of the front cover).

Finally, the legal information on the new back covers is laid out quite differently and shows the Capitol Target logo as well as the new Mississauga plant address.

Packaging

This edition was shipped in tight shrink wrap, with or without a plain paper LP inner sleeve. These Capitol sleeves are square and have a slight curve at the top.
