The Beatles have an impressive catalogue of their own, but through the years, many of their compositions were also given to other artists who recorded the "Beatles song" themselves, often reaching resounding success with the track. These are interesting because many of these songs were never officially recorded by the Beatles (sometimes not even a home demo) and can only be heard through these other artists' releases.
Some of the titles listed below have indeed been recorded by the Beatles, but their "cover versions" have had a life of their own and were therefore deemed important for this list (Del Shannon's "from Me To You" for example was released within a few days of the original Beatles record-if not a few days before).
**Please note that other contributions do exist, but they are not listed here because no Canadian pressings were made.
On the other hand, what is NOT included here are standard cover versions of the Beatles songs, unless there is a direct Beatles link to be made. Therefore, all "regular" cover versions (mostly made after 1970) are not listed here; there would be too many and are of little interest to the present archive. The website also does not cover the French Canadian versions of Beatles songs that were released in the 1960s; although very interesting, the French Canadian connection to the Beatles was covered extensively by author Gilles Valiquette in his impressively detailed book C'est Fou Mais C'est Tout, already providing a complete discography of these great releases.
For a detailed account of Beatles compositions by other artists, from a historical as well a publishing point of view, read the book "The Songs The Beatles Gave Away", by Colin Hall. Finally, for a very interesting and rich overview of many of these songs that the Beatles "gave away" to other artists, listen to these videos by Andrew Milton at Parlogram :

The Beatles (or individual members) have also, more often than we think, contributed to other artists' recordings by producing, playing an instrument or providing vocals for a song (or throughout a whole album). This was often done without any official credits on the record, or under a pseudonym (Paul Ramone, A. Smith, James Webb, L'Angelo Misterioso, etc.), either way, most often going unnoticed. Here is a list of Canadian releases where at least one member of the Beatles appears as a guest on another artist's record.
**Again, please note that other contributions do exist, but they are not listed here because no Canadian pressings were made.
These records are "Beatle-related", but do not feature any material BY the Beatles, and no Beatle appear on them, but they are either somehow connected to the band (published by Apple, a family member's band, etc.), or have the Beatles as a subject for a song.
As a producer, George Martin was involved in almost all Beatles recordings, but he also had a musical career of his own. In no small feat, he wrote and produced one of the first electronic music track in 1962 under the pseudonym Ray Cathode, before he even met the Beatles. Although, he is much more renowned today for his instrumental music, often used in movie soundtracks. Here below is a list of all known Canadian pressings featuring George Martin as a recording artist.
